vulvodynia

Vulvodynia is a female sexual disorder in which a woman experiences chronic pain from anything touching the vulva or the entrance of the vagina as well as sometimes the labia majora.  It can often lead to vaginismus as well.

Symptoms can include:

  • Burning, stinging, or pain with touching the vulva

  • Chronic pain with insertion of a tampon or speculum

There can be many causes of vulvodynia some of which include: trauma, menopause, surgery, lack of lubrication, and birth control.
